It is no wonder that in the nineteenth century (and earlier), when travelling abroad was complicated, exhausting and expensive, some preferred to stay in their comfortable homes and were happy merely to be reading about travels to foreign locations without ever leaving their cozy arm chairs. Although these arm chair travelers passed their winters seated in front of their blazing fireplaces and their summers in their cool gardens they nonetheless were able to explore exotic destinations through reading descriptions about them. As we all know, travel books like fiction allow the reader to journey into another world – that of imagination. A world of magic. I hope my book reviews may help you choose the destination of your next adventure.
